Working Principle of Z45X-16Q Non-Rising Stem Resilient Seated Gate Valve:

A non-rising stem resilient seated gate valve (Z45X-16Q) operates on a simple yet effective mechanism designed for low-maintenance, space-saving flow control.

When you turn the handwheel, the internal stem screw drives the gate up or down inside the valve body. Unlike a rising stem valve, the stem itself does not extend upward out of the valve; instead, the gate moves while the stem stays contained within the bonnet.
• Open Position: The gate is lifted fully out of the flow path, creating a straight-through passage with minimal pressure loss.
• Closed Position: The gate descends and presses tightly against the EPDM/NBR resilient seat, forming a bubble-tight, zero-leakage seal. The soft seat compensates for minor imperfections, ensuring reliable shut-off even with debris in the water.

This design keeps the operating height compact, making it ideal for buried pipelines and confined spaces, while the resilient seat provides long-lasting, maintenance-free performance.
